"Under the Pineapple"

Karólína Rós Ólafsdóttir and Boaz Yosef Friedman

The artist and writer Karólína Rós Ólafsdóttir and

the artist Boaz Yosef Friedman present their installation 'Under the Pineapple', which explores myth and

post-consumer ecology.

The germ of the work originates in the existential and metaphysical world presented in SpongeBob SquarePants, where a sponge's only dream is to work as an underwater cook in a world cluttered with human junk and debris.

Through a three part narrative, the work presents a folklore from the future: a story

of the possible landscapes of extinction.

Boaz Yosef Friedman has recently graduated from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the classes
of Prof. Trisha Donnelly and Prof. John Morgan, was a guest in London's Slade School of Art
and a recipient of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. He has exhibited in group and solo
shows in Germany, the United Kingdom, Iceland and Israel. Boaz lives and works in

South East London.

Karólína Rós Ólafsdóttir is an Icelandic poet writing in Icelandic and English, who works across
creative writing, visual arts, and critical analysis. She is a recent graduate of the English and Creative Writing programme in Goldsmiths, University of London and is currently based in South East London. Her work has been published in Weavers Magazine, Daughterhood Zine,
amberflora zine, Wormhole Newspaper, Raum 106 publication, GoldDust Magazine, The
